FHP Strength Notes · Once a week

Health research.
Useful this week.

For adults 40+ who want to stay strong, capable, and curious about their health.

Each week, we read original research papers from the previous week and explain what the findings could mean for everyday life. Every issue ends with a short list of practical actions.

  1. 01

    Go to the source

Links to the original papers, with the people studied and the limits of the findings made clear.

  2. 02

    Make it understandable

Strength, walking, protein, sleep, community, and other questions about ageing well, explained in plain language.

  3. 03

    Choose something useful

Three to five actions at the end, matched to the evidence. If research is too early to act on, we say so.

A little reading. A useful week.

The questions we follow

Strength is the starting point.
Health is the wider picture.

We follow research on strength, aerobic fitness, walking, protein, sleep, social connection, and the role of animals in our lives. We also examine probiotics, lactoferrin, nasal breathing, and grounding when original research gives us something worth assessing.

Topics rotate with the evidence. We do not force a finding into every issue. Older studies used for context are labelled, and uncertainty stays visible.

General education from an exercise coach. For decisions about medication, supplements, or a health condition, speak with your qualified healthcare professional.
